Questions about the Jericho Terrace

Questions about the Jericho Terrace

Err, hello everyone! I'd like to start off by introducing myself. My name is Jose Rivera. I know it might seem weird but yes, I am indeed the Groom of my upcoming wedding. :) Oddly enough, my Bride, as she puts it, is 'more along for the ride' and I am the one who is finicky about all the details and the sort (I've been wandering around for the past few months with various bridal books and magazines under my arms). That's where my username comes from, hehe.

But anywho! We finally went over to the Jericho Terrace this weekend and we were sooold. I love the place. It's fantastic. Even my fiancee had her heart strings pulled and claimed how much she wanted to be married there. So, we finally set a date and booked ourselves the Oak Room.

However, I had a question or two from something I saw here before so I was hoping anyone with experience there, especially recently, might be able to ask. Any and all help would be appreciated.

1) We have an evening wedding, with our ceremony happening around 4:30 on a holiday weekend. I saw somewhere online on a bride's review of the place that she had heard another party's reception music float up into the Skylight Room while her ceremony was going on. Could anyone verify that? My fear is that while me and my fiancee are exchanging vows, the Electric Slide will be playing in the background.

2) How is the Jericho Terrace about multiple parties? I know they ALL give the same guarantees that you will never see another wedding's party, but has anyone who has been married there care to back up that claim? I know I don't want to see another groom on our day.

Thank you again everyone for all your kind help with this. :)

Re: Questions about the Jericho Terrace

welcome!!

these are actually my fears as well, but we are having our ceremony and reception in the morning so i hope it's not too bad--

but there are a ton of reviews in here under the brides review, and nobody has ever said anything about hearing something while they were having a ceremony

also, when i booked they told me that they stagger the times so that things like this have less of a chance of happening--

hope this helps!!

also-there's a thread for jericho terrace if you do a search, and it has a lot of great information

Welcome and congrats

I did get married at JT in the skylight-terrace room but only thing is by some miracle i was the only event there that night which is crazy since it was a sat night in the middle of May. There was a cancelled wedding so thats why. So as far as the sound cant help with that. However, i have attended weddings there before, even before mine went to one in the Dome room and didnt hear music from the other room but again cant say 100% sure that it doesn't happen.

If you have any other questions i can answer those

Oh thank you all. :) I am sure I am just being overly fretful and everything will be okay, but I just need some reassurances because I keep ending up doing this if I sit still too long.

Oh, may I ask what FM is? I do see a lot of abbreviations such as DH and the sort here that I do not recognize. Please forgive my ignorance hehe.

fm is forum mail, go to chat lingo up top and you can see what they all are

we looked at jericho terrace too, it's ok to have concerns, i've never been to a wedding there, so i can't answer your questions,
but i have heard that you can hear things from other weddings because they are all so close

sorry, fm is forum mail. If you look above you will see it says account, forum mail, resizer, log out . Well forum mail is like private mail. If you want to fm somebody click on their sn and you will get a link to the right that says you can fm the person.

Dh means dear husband and FH means future husband.

Oh boy, thanks everyone. You all are very quick to respond! :) I suppose I will have to start my own abbreviations of DB (dear bride) and FB (future bride) hehe.

I am starting to get a little worried now, since various sources are stating that other ceremonies have heard music and the sort during their weddings. I would be absolutely livid if something like that happened during my day.

Any possible solutions to alleviate this? Perhaps having some soft music in the background? Hell if I know, I'm new to all this myself!

Thank you everyone for all the congratulations and congrats in return to all of you! :)

Re: Questions about the Jericho Terrace

we had our ceremony in the skylight room and i dont remember hearing any noise from other parties - our ceremony was at 6pm though so hypothetically afternoon parties would have ended already and the evening parties would not have started - so depending on the time you are more or less likely to hear music if there is another event - know what i mean?

the day of my wedding there were MULTIPLE parties going on - during the day when we took pictures there was at least 1 party going on (it was a friday afternoon and there was a day party which i NEVER expected - must have been a holiday party) and it wasn't bad - i felt like a celebrity actually b/c while we were taking pictures or walking around people kept congratulating us and saying how gorgeous we were so of course i didn't mind hahahahaha.....

in the evening there were def other parties going on as well - but i didn't run into any brides - but i did see other guests here and there and at the end of the night when our party ended we saw some guests leaving a party as well......

as far as service i felt like our wedding was the only thing going on the entire day - from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.....

more like have your DJ or band tell them to play the music extra loud so you dont hear it

Theres abbreviations for guys too, its FW and DW as in future wife and dear wife

Re: Questions about the Jericho Terrace

I should tell them to Electric Slide our bridal party down the aisle and give her 50 Cent's In Da Club for when she walks down the aisle hm?

Oh I also took a look at the Jericho Terrace thread and boy were you all right! There's a LOT of information there, including my next maaaajor concern.. a DJ. I have a party FULL of eager Puerto Ricans and co workers who want to burn the dance floor with their feet and I must be ready to supply them with music. Luckily, perusing through the thread, I saw a lot of recommendations!
