Questions for Photographers

Hey ladies,

FH and I have several meetings with photographers over the next few days. We went to see one photographer on Saturday but we felt lost since I had no idea what questions I should be asking.

Can you post any questions you think would be helpful to ask a potential photographer/videographer? That way I can go to these meetings knowing a little something :)

Thanks soooo much for your help.

Make sure you request to see some proofs and look at the work before it was all designed and touched up. Pay attention to the poses, the quality of the pictures and how they were cut.

Good luck

Re: Questions for Photographers

questions are ok but the most important thing is: do YOU LIKE their work? do you LIKE their personalities, etc....

so many people seem to be hung up on 'how many wallets' etc but that's minor besides whether you feel comfortable with this person being in front of you and next to you all day on your wedding day.

also, do you like their albums?

do they seem nice and intelligent?

can they give recent references?

can you see an ENTIRE wedding with proofs not just the best 20?

will you be able to get the negatives or digital files after the wedding?

will they have an online proofing gallery where friends and family can order?

do you have choices when it comes to albums or you're locked into one size and one kind?

Make sure you ask if theyve shot weddings at your locations! And if they make sure they are not in the middle of everything, like make sure they are not in the middle of the isle during your vows so guests can't see...

so how are they supposed to take the photos if they can't be in front of the couple?

it's usually the video people with their big stands that plant themselves in the middle of the aisle and don't move an inch...
