what's the turn around time?
do you get the raw footage?
do they do any fancy digital effects?
do they do interviews of guests? (where the guests speak to the couple)

PS - I don't know who you're thinking of meeting with, but I hope Bellarino Video is on your list...awesome customer service!

I second Bellarino. They have been so great since we booked.

Re: Questions for Videographer

I used own a wedding videography business back when I lived in Maryland. I would suggest asking about:

-Shooting Format & Delivery Format (DV? DVD? HD?)
-Will you be able to make your own music selections?
-Is supplementary lighting used? In what situations? How bright/obtrusive is it?
-Shooting style... are they the kind of shooter who's going to get up in your face during the ceremony or will they be more low key and use a zoom from the back of the aisle?
-Typical shots they include
-Is raw footage available?

For me, it was very difficult when it came down to selecting a videographer, because it's what I do for a living and I'm pretty picky about it. But I realized that one of the top priorities for me was shooting style... I prefer someone who is going to document the event, not become a part of it by placing themselves in the action.

I'm willing to sacrifice certain angles and coverage in order to insure that my guests will always have an unobstructed view of the event. That was really important for me. I prefer to keep the huge tripods and lighting setups at a minimum -- it just makes people less self-consicous so they can have a good time. And that will shine through in the video!

If you have any questions, feel free to FM me.

Re: Questions for Videographer

idk we are using our photographers neighbor, yeah thats right, we didnt budget for video cuz originally we didnt want it, but have been convince we should have it so this dorky av kinda guy who does video on the side for extra cash is doing our wedding....no deposit, no contract, no nothing but a one on one meeting with a few demos to look at......
but for the whole day with 3 dvds minimal editing... hes only 500 bucks and doesnt want to get paid until we get the dvds and are happy with them

sorry i am no help
