Left a message with my church and they're checking the date and the Vicar will get back to me.
What questions does the church ask? I just want to make sure I'm prepared.
A couple of the reception halls said not to tell the church you've been looking where to have the party before you've booked the ceremony.

I agree. Don't mention anything about the reception hall. If they ask you say you wanted to get the church set first. They have no way of knowing that youre lying...
I got off easy as far as church goes, the Deacon we met with was awesome. He asked us a bunch of questions seperately. Like have you ever been married, are you both catholic, do you plan on having children... stuff that is not difficult to answer...

you shouldn't say that you are looking or have already booked your RH. the Church believes the Church is the first thing that you book. when on the phone the priest didn't ask me many questions. just the date i was interested & when we can having a meeting.
at the meeting he asked up basic questions: have you been married before? where do you live? Ceremony or full Mass? why did we choose that Church? are we going to have children?

Re: Questions the church will ask
I guess my only concern is that we don't have a 'religious' reason as to why we chose that church. I'm Lutheran and FH is Catholic (went to Catholic high school and college) but neither of us are really overly religious. Neither of us have been to church in a long time. I don't think I should tell them that we picked my church cause it would make my mom happy and it's prettier than the FH's church...lol!

have you made all of your other sacraments there? Maybe say that - I think that's what I will say
