Questions to Ask
So FH and I had our first meeting with a photographer and we hadn't come up with a list of questions to ask, so we were a little bit clueless. All we asked was if they've shot at our venue before and the photographer was kind of just like no I haven't I'm sure somewhere here has but that doesn't matter when you're a professional.Does anybody have any tips on what to ask when you meet with a photographer? We are meeting with one next week, and hopefully two the week after.
Any advice will help! We're lost!

Questions to Ask
Hi there!I'd ask how many edited photos you receive, if you have to purchase prints/albums etc, how long until you get photos back, if you have rights to digital images (for reprinting, posting etc).
That's the most important thing to me, but maybe asking how long they've been in photography and what they'd classify as their style is important too. If getting some standard posed shots is important to you, make sure you ask about them!

This! also, if they have insurance and if its up to date. We're taking our first look pics at old west bury gardens, and they wont let u take it their unless the photographer provides them with that info. And importantly, if they accept all cash, and what they're willing to do for you if you go that route.

Questions to Ask
Think about what's most important to you with respect to your pictures! Ask those questions, and definitely ask the all cash question too!

all of this, I also looked at his work and ask about his experience outside of weddings. Places he has photograped.

Questions to Ask
Everything these ladies said. We also had them walk us through a rough timeline of what would happen throughout the day since we were clueless. We also asked if they're preferred vendors at any venues. Some were frank and told us no or yes and why.. And some kind of beat around the bush which made me a little nervous like they were at some point and aren't anymore because they were bad lol

Questions to Ask
I asked about rights to the photos (I learned that some people charge you extra to get the rights and unwatermarked cd full of ALL images). I also asked when they take a break for meals, what they wear, have they been to the venue before and know of great places to take photos... Extra hidden fees that I was unaware of (like traveling between the hotel and venue).

Thank you ladies so much! I'd be lost without this website! ... I asked if they've been to my venue before and the guy was just like I haven't but that doesn't matter, which kind of turned me off because I wanted someone who's been there before and knows of good spots or if they had any photos to show me.Welcome New Vendors
