I am meeting with florists for the first time this weekend. What are some questions that I should ask that might not immediately come to mind to a wedding newbie?
(Some details about our wedding: we are having a church ceremony, 1 BM and 1 MOH, 3 GM, 1 best man, 1 flower girl)

1. Is our wedding date available?
2. Do you charge a consultation fee?
3. What is your design style?
4. How long have you been in business?
5. Can you show me photographs of your work?
6. What flowers will be in season for September?
7. Which varieties are best suited to my room?
8. What's the most innovative concept you have executed recently?
9. Do you offer decorative items (vases, potted plants, arches, trellises, candelabras, urns)?
10. What do you charge for the decorative items?
11. Have you done weddings at my reception hall before?
12. How big is your staff? Who will work on my wedding?
13. How many weddings do you do on the same day? The same weekend?
14. Will you spend time at the site setting up the arrangements and making sure everything is in order?
15. Will you deliver to bride, groom and church? Is there a fee?
16. Do you have a certificate of insurance and may we see it?
17. Will you be able to provide the certificate to the hall in the time required?

I have questions for pretty much every vendor I met with and I'm more than happy to share them. They seem like a bit much but I'm kinda anal like that.
Threw the vendors for a loop that I was so prepared. Loved the looks on people's faces.

Listed below are questions you should consider asking your florist before making a final decision.
Are rentals available from you? Such as: plants, trees, candelabras, archways, Chuppahs, lattice screens. Do you have photographs of some of the affairs that you have done? Do you have bridal packages? Can you show the centerpieces at various price ranges? Do you also do dried flower arrangements? Are you familiar with the reception site? How would you recommend decorating it? Do you do split shipments (i.e.: to hall, house and studio, etc.)? What are the delivery charges? Do you service the wedding (i.e.: professional set up of flowers, etc.)? Do you do out of local area weddings? How long have you been in business? Can you provide a list of references? Is a deposit required? When is the balance due? What is your cancellation policy? Do you accept credit cards? If so, which ones? How many weddings can you do in one day?
