Does anyone know anything about Stonebridge Country Club in I think Happuage/Smithtown area. My parents went there this weekend to check it out for me and my FH since we are stuck in Buffalo and it is hard for us to get home and look at places. Any thoughts...good...bad...I get the feeling that their favorite place was Crescent Club. They also like flowerfield and lands end. It is so hard to plan a wedding when you live so far away We are looking to have 120 people and would prefer to have it on a Saturday nite. We want something that our guests are overwhelmed by when they drive up and leave at the end of the night say WOW...well I guess that is what we all want...Any suggestions would be great! Oh and both our families are boaters...so we would like to have something near water if possible...Yes I know we are picky!

Land's End will definitely make your guests say WOW! however, because it is only one party at a time, I think they have a very high minimum for amount of guests. I would say invite more people because that place is so beautiful!!

I am bias but Land's End is beautiful and by the water so is flowerfield but it is not on the water and your guests will say wow because the grounds are beautiful, the food and service is outstanding
I have heard the same about the crescent and atlantica also

budget is not the issue at the moment. and we dont want NYC because we want to get married outside otherwise the city would have been our first choice!

Well Oheaka can do your ceremony. Also you have the mansions like Vanderbuilt, other places like Giorgios, HArbor club I heard is pretty. Flowerfield definitely. So btw 120++-350 (Oheaka).
Another consideration is where guests would be driving from..if they need accomodations etc?

I'm getting married at The Crescent and I absolutely love it. But FYI, they wanted me to guarantee 200 for my Saturday night. My parents talked them down to 175.

I kept thinking of the first impression on driving into the reception site also, and that's why I chose Timber Point. For a mansion that has one wedding at a time, on the water and on a golf course, you can't beat the price.
Not sure if it has 'WOW' factor, but it is very pretty and cozy.

How about the Atlantica in the Hamptons? I am not sure if they have a minimum. I know crescent beach club charges you big for not reaching there minimum.

I don't know if you're strictly considering LI, but my hall is in New Rochelle (about 30 minutes from Nassau) and it's right on the water--Glen Island Harbour Club . What I love is that you drive down a narrow road and at the end, all you see is water and GlHC.
ETA: If you're considering getting married at the hall, GIHC is great because they have a round indoor ceremony room with glass windows looking out onto the water.

I was married outside in the city. I was married at the Botanical Gardens in the Bronx. There are actually alot of options for outdoor ceremonies in NYC.

For the 'wow' factor, as far as places I'VE been, I'd definately say Flowerfield or The Crescent. They are both stunning

I am totally biased but here are some pics of The Bourne Mansion...Tree lined driveway, Front of mansion, back of mansion, and ballroom. It's on the bay, but the water is kinda a hike!
