quick ? about going to milk from formula

hi girls- we are back from a nice trip to fla
cant get into details now as julianne and I are home this week- her daycare is closed,..and thankfully I have 2 vacation days left and the office is closed for 3 days

Dr mentioned that when she turns one she will go off of formula and move to milk

she will be one in SIX DAYS! WOW time flies

we are on our last container of formula...and her appt is not until the 9th.

how did your babies transfer to milk? did they split the bottle with half milk and half formula? or go straight to milk?
Would not mind if we dont have to buy another container of formula when this one is done

let me know your experiences

I did the same thing that Victoria said - 6 oz. of formula with 2 oz. of milk....every 2 days, I subtracted 2 oz. of formula and added 2 oz. of milk (yes, whole milk!), until it was a full bottle of milk and no formula!

CONGRATULATIONS on such a big step! Wow - I cannot believe J is ONE year old already!! Time flies, right Phyl?

im off this week and first day back is on her bday! so im trying to figure out is I should stay home that day

Depending on the baby, you can do it in more or less time. The Dr told us 4 days, to do half half (if I remember correctly). I think by the 3rd day he was 100% milk.
A friend of mine was told to change to all milk at 10 months. so it depends on the mom and the baby.
JA is very EASY with food and probably wouldnt have even minded milk at 10 months
After getting a taste of milk, he wanted NOTHINg to do with Enfamil

maybe I will start weaning her off of formula today and see how it goes
