OMG we just got a check for $500 in the mail from someone who will not be able to attend. Do we deposit it or sit on it till after the wedding in 2 1/2 months.

When is the check dated for? If it is dated now I would deposit it into a savings account just to keep it safe. If it is dated for your wedding date find a very safe place to keep it. That is all I could think of now. I hope that I helped you out a little.

I have been depositing checks that we have been receiving and immediately sending out thank you cards.
I am so ontop of my checking account and I hate when people take forever to cash them!!!!

Deposit it now. If they balance their check book monthly, you will throw them off by not depositing it.

I would definetly deposit the check now and send a quick thank you note. After the wedding you can always send a more formal thank you note.

Deposit if now & sent them a hand written note to thank then now, then when the offical thank you cards are done mail it with a favor to them if you can, thats what we are doing.

deposit it and send them a thank you now -- you can always send a photo thank you later after the wedding.
if you wait to deposit it -- it will through there checking acct. off. plus after I think it's 3 months personal checks are invalid.
