quick - help please!

My FH's brother's half-brother's girlfriend (LOL - or the shorter version, our friend) Just emailed me and said:

I’m excited for your and Tommy’s engagement party! :) Anything in particular you want/need?

What's the best/most polite way to word the response? Is it ok to give her the link to the registries or no? If so how do I word it??

Thanks, I can sound awkward when I need to be gracious and polite via email. lol I'm used to being short and concise for business emails.

PS I was thinking of just saying something like 'thanks that is so sweet, you don't have to worry about getting us anything we are just happy you can come.'

Should I just leave it at that? I didn't think anything else would be acceptable, but hence why I'm asking you ladies lol

Thats a good one!

At this point I think it's fine to mention the registries.

Maybe like 'We are so excited that you will be there, it means a lot. I know we will love anything you bring, but if it helps, we are registered ____________'

I agree - that is a good way to put it. When people ask about gifts it can get awkward, but she did ask!

You are right! That's why I figured it would be ok I just wanted to make sure it sounded gracious and Jill did a good job.

I even added 'most importantly don't forget to bring your suite and towel for the pool!' to lighten it up too.

wow I'm excited for the party now yay!

I like that you added about the pool!!

At work (I'm a behavior therapist) when we have to say something negative that the child did, we always 'sandwich' it in between two positive comments. It works wonders!

Edited for spelling.

That is a good tactic.
