Quick Honeymoon

Quick Honeymoon

My FH and I are unable to go on a long HM right away due to work obligations, but also realize going to the Caribbean in the middle of Sept. may not be the wisest thing anyways. So, while we look to the South for our winter getaway, we wanted to get a away for a few days after the wedding, possibly to PA or CT. Our intent is to get off the Island as my FH says it. He's lived here all his life, whereas me, I've only moved and lived down here for a couple years. Does anyone have any suggestions (names, towns to look in, price, etc)?

Btw...I'm been an avid reader of these LIW posts, but not much of a poster, but thanks for those who do, it has been really helpful with wedding planning!!!

I think the Poconos - PA would be nice. Or maybe you can stay in a nice Hotel Suite in Atlantic City. Or enjoy the countryside of Rhode Island. Boston can be a nice getaway.

I just recently started posting myself... Welcome!!

In CT, Mystic is a cute area to go to for a few days. I think it's also pretty close to the casinos (Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun), which could be fun at night. I'd also consider Newport, RI or Cape Cod. Both are really nice areas and will be less crowded in September than in the summer.

Thanks for the information! Actually, someone from my office suggested Newport Rhode Island as well, so I'll look there too. Have you ever been to Newport? I've never been to Rhode Island, so I'm not familiar with what's around there. Thanks again for the reply!

DH and I went to Newport 1 1/2 years ago and it was great. It's a really cute area where you can walk around the harbor for a while. They also have beautiful mansions, and offer a bunch of mansion tours. We had a great time there.

Re: Quick Honeymoon

I came home from work tonight and brought this idea up with my FH, and he likes the idea so we started looking at the area. There are so many hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts, etc in the Newport area. Would you recommend any?

Thanks again for the idea to look here! Based on what we've found, it looks like we may go here for a few days!!!

We stayed a couple miles outside of the main area of newport. I forget the name of the place. When I usually look for hotels to stay at, I always check trip advisor for reviews. There are plenty of nice hotels in the area. Just do some research on the web. Have fun.
