Roommate's mother is coming to stay for a night tomorrow and the stove is filthy and we need to clean it tonight. Roommate is only home 2-3 times a month so it is our responsibility to clean the stove we dirtied. Any ideas? Thanks

Is it a flat top stove?? If so, use ammonia and water. It makes mine sparkle.

You can usually get everything off with a wet sponge. We also use Cook Top cleaning creme for smooth top ranges.I think hubby got it at Sears hardware but I'm not sure.

fantastic...is my weapon against the stove top...it really is *fantastic*...but never tried just ammonia and water...probably does the same thing...for less money...

oddly enough...vinegar diluted with water. And don't do what my mom did, it's white vinegar, not balsamic!
