I have a slight problem. Yesterday I decided to look through ALL of my contracts to figure out exactly what is owed when. WELL, I came across my photo contract and realize that I owed a fairly large amount 60 days before my wedding. I am now past that!
Anyway, I have the check written out, but I called the photographer this morning to be sure that it's ok that I'm late, etc. and they are CLOSED for 'renovations' Do you think I should still send this check in without speaking with someone first. It's an awful large amount.
UGH! When is this wedding going to be over?

Re: Quick opinions please! Re: Photographer
They didn't have any other emergency number to call? Is it close that you could drive down there ? I would be a little leary to send a BIG check when it may get lost with construction going on or something.

I am surprised that they did not send you a reminder letter about the amount due since it is so large. I would not send it but I would see if I can bring it to someone there.

Re: Quick opinions please! Re: Photographer
Hmm... well they gave an emergency beeper number, but that was for bride's getting married this weekend...
I feel like crying!
No Lisa, they did not give me a follow up call! I don't know whether to scream or cry!
I know it's no big deal, but I don't want to end up with no photographer because my payment was late..

If you are so worried, I would beep them and when they call back I would explain why you beeped them and how worried you are.

Hmmm... as far as I thought their whitestone branch has closed. Maybe I'll try calling them. I just feel that things get miscommunicated with too many different phone calls.

When you mail it, mail it at the post office and ask for a signed receipt when they receive it, that way you know it was received....

Don't worry...I'm also using Cassarino next week! Just like you I realized I was about 3 weeks late on the final payment. I sent it in with no problem. They also want the last page of that booklet they send out. When I booked they gave me my photographer's home/cell numbers... I'm not sure who you are using but I have Jody P. #'s, feel free to FM me for the numbers.

Re: Quick opinions please! Re: Photographer
I wouldnt send anything in the mail-i would go down there and talk to someone personally at another branch and they can contact the person that you have been dealing with- its not worht it if this large amount of money gets crossed somewhere. Im sure that there are plenty of brides who have went past the 60 day mark- im sure they will take your payment-

Re: Quick opinions please! Re: Photographer
Speak to someone first before you send the money to insure proper credit is made and there's no confusion.
They should have sent a mailing to the clients advising them of the renovation work and what to do in the meantime with regard to payments, questions, etc... People start to panic this way otherwise.

Thanks ladies...
I'm going to beep that number on the answering machine. They say it's for brides for this weekend, but hey, I need to get in touch with someone.
I'm VERY upset that I did not get the booklet rowie is talking about and VERY upset I haven't been contacted by them since I booked them in NOVEMBER 2002!

Hi! It's me again!
Anyway, I took your advice and paged the number on their answering machine. The guy I spoke to was actually very nice. He answered my questions and told me to just drop the check off next week.
I also asked him about the booklet that I never received and he said I'd get it when I drop the check off! WHEW! Okay, I feel MUCH MUCH better...
Thanks again ladies!

Re: Quick opinions please! Re: Photographer
OctBride03 you go girl! You should definitely beep them. You have every right to! As I said, they should have notified their clients as to what was going on so nobody would panic and think they weren't going to have a photographer the day of their wedding.
I wasn't going to mention this, but I feel I should. I heard the owner sold the business to the staff(I know someone who knows one of the workers there. I would get on this ASAP!

Re: Quick opinions please! Re: Photographer
The story I got was that first, they lost George their best photographer and then one of their other photographers started their own studio and whoever was left I think is taking over. This isn't the only studio I heard this happened to.
