QUICK PHOTOGRAPHER HELP..kinda long

So i booked a photog....DH and I met with him earlier in the week. We met at his studio and looked at his work (loved it!) and his videos. He is very professional, and very creative, however...
when DH and I were in the car leaving, we were not impressed by how desperate for money he seemed. This guy is located in the city. My house is in nassau, wedding is in nassau, and reception is in suffolk (about 40 mins away). He suggested 9.5 hours of coverage.
The ceremony is:
2:30-3:30ish
CH: 7
Rec.: 8-12

That is leaving 2.5 hours for him to take pics of me getting ready and pics in between church and CH. (with driving figured in) I don't think that is enough and I think he's going to add more $ to an already ridiculously $$ package. He claims that he starts getting paid as soon as he arrives. We both felt that was pushy and tacky to say. However, he became much nicer when he asked when we will know if we want to book and we said we want to book now. IDK. He sent me the contract to sign in the mail so i wouldn't have to trek back to the city. I'm not sure if i should sign though. Any suggestions? His style is very similar to Angelica Glass (not available for my date). I am looking for someone who is as close to her style as possible.

well something that is very important is to be comfortable with the photographer, and he didnt need to mention that as soon as he arrives he gets paid. I don't know i say go with your gut.

Who is the photographer.

There are other photographers you can check out...If i werent able to book AG, i would've looked at something in blue, its a husband and wife team and they do gorgeous work, and its all photojournalistic...their site is www.somethinginblue.com

Which photo was it? You dont want to have drama on your wedding day. Are you looking to change your photo now. Espo listed good photos

hmm, well whether 9.5 hours is enough or not depends on if you want him to stay for the whole reception or not.... we hired him for 12 hrs, which will be from 9-9 (we're taking pictures before the ceremony) and then we'll pay for 1 or 2 extra hours so he gets the cake cutting, bouquet/ garter toss.

Did you ask how much he charges per extra hour?

But its definitely important that you feel comfortable with your photographer... if you don't, you might hold back or something while taking pics and it will probably be noticable. So you should probably talk it over with FH and see how he feels... or maybe you could even talk to the photographer about it... like casually mention that you are now unsure and need some time to think abotu it and if he asks what made you change your mind you could mention that he made you uncomfortable.

Goodluck!
