...should they be in the inner or outer envelopes.
I always thought outer.

Re: Quick Question about invites
Thank you. Looks like Carlson Craft screwed up. Now I am steamed. I was so excited that I didnt think about it til I got home. I have 200 lined inners and 200 unlined inner envelopes and NO lined outers. Just 200 unlined outers. I wanted my lined outers. Dont want or need the lined inners.

Re: Quick Question about invites
Thanks. Yes well CC first told the place where I had the invites done that my invitation did not come with a liner. Then CC called them and said that they DO in fact come with a liner and it cost about $80 more because it was custom rather than standard. The rep at the place got miffed and with my encouragement advocated to get the liners thrown in for free. It worked.
So now I have very pretty and formal gold paper lined INNER envelopes. When I told one of my sisters about it, she said, the liners are supposed to be on the outside. Im thinking she's right and it looks awkward. Fortunately I have plenty of time to rectify the situation but what was weird is that I ordered: 175 invitations with inner and outer envelopes. THEN I ordered an extra 25 inner and an extra 25 outer in case of any calligraphy errors. Makes sense right?
Well what I GOT was: 200 unlined outer envelopes (WRONG) 175 unlined inner envelopes AND 200 lined inner.
I need to adjust this because I am about to go buck nutty. I know in the grand scheme of things, a lined envelope means nothing but once you see something and order something you like, you want it done right.

Re: Quick Question about invites
most liners are on the inner - the one that does not seal

Really? I never saw it that way. Maybe things change and I just dont know. But for some reason I am bugged by this.

Re: Quick Question about invites
our invitations and the ones we received were on the inner envelope - because that is the envelope you hold onto - the other one gets thrown out right away and killed my the mail

Re: Quick Question about invites
I suppose it makes sense but I was under the impression that the outer envelope has a liner so that the ink from the address does not leak onto the inner envelope. Regardless, I am not happy with how it looks and wouldn't have pushed to get the liners thrown in if I knew they would be on the inner envelopes. I think they also use liners on the outside envelopes if NO inner envelopes were used. Maybe thats it. I would use an inner envelope with NO liner instead if it cannot be rectified.
Again I know this shouldnt be a big deal. But they were costly and ultimately it comes down to pleasing the customer. Being the daughter of a retailer, I watched my father take losses in sales in order to make sure his customers were satisfied. That was cheaper than a bad word of mouth.
