quick question about tipping bartenders etc

quick question about tipping bartenders etc

My dad wants us to give the bartenders, bathroom attendant and valets their tip instead of accepting it from the guests. I think thats ok but I have no idea what to give them. How big of a hole is this going to burn in my pocket?

What do you ladies think about how much we should give them? Two bartenders, about 4 valets and 1 or 2 bathroom attendants.

I think valets are 1-2 bucks per car. I don't know about anyone else

i thought the bartenders get a portion of the gratuity that you already pay ... ?

I thought the bartender tips came out of the gratuity you pay... good lord I hate this tipping stuff... everytime I think I have it figured out another person pops up. I'm just going to start handing people blank checks...

ETA: Does the Woodlands have bathroom attendants? I don't think we do... or at least I don't want one.

ita...ANDDDD....i dont think there is a good/easy way to tell ppl that the tips have been covered in a way that it will make a difference

some ppl want to tip bartenders (stronger drinks, faster service) and they just WILL --- whether you pay in advance or not. same with valet.

those that normally tip, will tip.

unless you can tell the people NOT TO ACCEPT tips....which i kinda doubt. but i would talk to your BM

since gratuities are 'covered' maybe they wont accept tips anyway. then you guys are fine

c'mon....serious countdown now....eek. GIVE YOURSELF A TIP! HOLLER! hope you have an awesome relaxing day todayyyyyy!!

how do you plan to stop them from taking tips from the guests/or stop the guests from giving them tips... i would guess that they would get more tips from guests then what you would give them... (i could be wrong)

at my RH they said the average tip for servers and bartenders is 25-50 each. FFIL doesn't want a tip jar for the bartenders out for the guests to pay so i know he will be tipping them more and asking them not to accept from the guests.

I dont recommend it... if i was a bartender or valet those tips from guests are what i would rely on... id be pissed if someone told them not to give a tip... unless your dad plans on shelling out a lot of money to these people...
