I am getting the names and addresses together for my engagement party invitations. I have a cool boss and we are friendly so I wanted to invite her and her husband to the engagement party. She asked when it was before I sent out the invitations and told her the date. She told me she was going to be on vacation and can't attend. Do I still send her an invitation? I know I have seen questions before about wedding invitations and still sending them if you know the person can't come anyway. So what are your thoughts. Yes or No?

that would be my instinct as well, but after going through the guest list again with my mom, she suggested we not send invites to certain people we know will not come because she views it's like asking for a gift... i never really thought about it that way and now agree with her...

I think you should still send the invite. She might wonder why she doesn't get one and get insulted, even though she can't come.
