Quick Question. Too soon to register?

Quick Question. Too soon to register?

I have a few relatives who have been asking me to go register so they could buy us an engagement present. Our wedding is in April of 2003, a year away.... is it too soon to register? By the time my shower comes along, will the stuff I register for now still be available in the stores?

Thanks for your help.

If you register for basics like china or crystal they should still be around in a year. I would stay away from bedding and stuff like that.

Also, if you register at a place like Crate and Barrel be careful because a lot of their stuff is seasonal.

I personally had no desire to register a year in advance so I waited (I am starting to register now..6 mos in advance) and told my inlaws if people ask they can always give gift certificates. I mostly got $$ and gift certificates.

Go for it!

I registered at Macy's about 15 months before my wedding. Just make sure not to use an items before you have complete sets. If becomes unavailable before your set is complete, you can return what you have and pick out something new that is available. I didn't need to do this though, everything is still there!
