QUICK! Tipping delivery guy..please help

We bought a treadmill at Sears and we paid $60 for delivery, however the official dlivery people dont come this far (it's really not that far), so the guy who sold it to us and his manager said they'd eliver it themselves. They're coming today. How much should I tip them? We paid $60 for delivery and I'm sure they're getting paid to deliver it, but I just don't know how much to tip? And can I give one person a tip to split between the two?(like if I have one bill, etc)

Also, can I expect them to bring it into my living room for me (which involved having them being it literally through the entire apartment) or should I have them leave it in the hall. I'm really not used to getting stuff delivered and I don't want to look cheap. Thanks!

Have them bring it to your living room. Normally I would tip around $10 -$15 dollars depending on how much of a pain it is for them to get it in the house (we just had baby furniture delivered today and that's how much we tipped but the delivery charge was much higher than yours) but since they seem to be going a little out of their way for you I would tip a little more. Maybe $20.

I would do $10 each and a bottle of cold water if they are doing you a favor. In this heat - anyone doing a favor hauling boxes should be taken care of!

I was thinking $20 also. My mom said $5 each, but I think that's low. For our furniture I know FH and I tipped them guys $20 each, this is just one littler tradmill, so $20 between the to of them is good? Can I just give them a $20 bill to split? I always feel so awkward tipping, and until recently we always ahd my dad to bring stuff home and we never had anything delivered, even pizza.

I'm confused, the sales guy & his mgr are going to deliver it? But the delivery service wouldn't? That's bizarre. What are they going to bring it?

UGH! They came...We bought a closeout one. It had be delivered opened and put together, but teh first perosn returned it without using it. We saved a lot of money this way. It was already put together and it just wasn't fitting throuh the narrow pasageways in my very old house, so they had to take it back outside and take it apart. As they were taking it apart, they slicedone of the itnerior wires and they said the thing is shot. Anyway they assured me I'd be getting a new, better one. I still feel bad though for not tipping them, they did lift it several times and it was blazing hot out....but all I had was $20 and I figured I'll tip them when I actually get the delivery. I felt bad because they were doing me a favor, theyd rove here in therr truck, and they were going to wind it through my whole narrow house to get it to the living room. But anyway, he's going to call me tomorrow to let me know what they're going to replace it with. it was an old model so they no longer make it new, but he said I'd be getting a better one. I hope so! I can't wait to get my treadmill. I need it for my PT, and I won't have to be in the gym all the time waiting forever just to do my 20 min on the treadmill. I'm very excited.

yeah the sales guy brought it with, I guess another salesguy in his own SUV. He said it happens that the sears delivery service won't deliver it and they do it. I guess he stands to make a commission on it, so he wanted to sell it. I'm not sure, but the guy was so 100% nice. If you need a treadmill or an elliptaicl or anything, defintely go to sears in garden city!
