Can you pull a bid back...I am winning now, and after thinking about it, I don't want it! (dumb, I know...)

you can only retract if the bid amount was wrong, meaning if you bid 25.00 but typed in 250.00

Look in ebays help feature for bid retraction.
When does the auction end? If you have a few hours or days, I would let it ride and hope to get out bid.

How much did you bid? I think they only let you retract if it is an obvious error like the one cocoa mentioned.

It was not a huge mistake...just something that I can get cheaper elsewhere.
I contacted the seller to see if he/she would cancel my bid.

yeah, they dont like when you cancel a bid...they give you bad feedback if you do....
