My FIL'S made a big stink when I told them we booked out hall ( they have never heard of it or seen it)
so after a few months of being tired of hearing them I brought them to the hall and had a tasting... they havent complained once since

i know...it is OUR wedding!! but i just wish they were as excited as we were....it kind of ruined my night... ...i know....i am so sensitive

I felt the exact same way!! It really annoyed me that they werent just excited for us. Seriously drag them down there!! Once they saw it and had nothing bad to say it made me feel soooooooooo much better. Plus it made them feel a little more involved which made them happy.

I'm getting married in the downstairs and was a little iffy about it BEFORE I actually saw it - the whole idea of going down 'into the basement' bothered me. - UNTIL I saw the room - Maybe if you take them to see it...........and if you're in love w/ the Watermill 'Swanky' is not your style anyway, you know ?? Who cares what they think ? -Pick what YOU love !!

If you both loved it that is all that matters. Your wedding, not theirs. But the Watermill is beautiful. I dont get it. What kind of swanky place did they like. Eventually you can tune them out.

Ok, I am obviously biased, having just had my wedding there...ceremony and reception - so iused both the main floor and the basement...here are a few pictures to show you how beautiful it can look!!!
I gave one from the downstairs, during the ceremony and one from upstairs at the reception

if they're not happy with your choice, bring them there....perhaps they've forgotten what it lokos like since they were last there....show them how excited you are about it, and perhaps it will help them to change their minds
