R Progams and Menus a Must?

R Progams and Menus a Must?

I know the menu's aren't, but what about the programs. My cousin had his programs incorporated in the invitations. His wedding was this past saturday and no one had the program to look at and no one seemed to care that they had forgotten to bring it with them or ask if there were extras.

I honestly don't want them, but if I have to I will.

TIA

i think it is nice for people to be able to follow along and have a keepsake of your wedding.. and for you, the readings, etc, also to give BM's and GM's credit with their names in it..

I didn't do either and people were able to keep up.

Nothing is a Must. You do you want.

Not a must but nice. We are having a full Catholic mass so I want people to be able to follow along, especially since alot of my friends are not Catholic.

i have been to weddings with no programs and I didn't mind at all. This is one that can go either way - although my compulsiveness will require me to have them at mine...

In that case, I wouldn't bother with them.

Not doing programs...not needed for our guests.

Nothing is needed - your day, your way

But, I am doing them because I want to.

Not necessary but we are since we are interfaith and many extended family members who never met either FH or myself will be there.

I was up to 1 am doing mine last night. I had to get fancy and include short biographies of us, MOH, BM and an explanation of many of the things we are doing in our ceremony since it is unique and we wrote it ourselves.

I didn't do either, and never expect them to be at weddings. Defintiely not a must.

note needed...I didn't do them and no one asked about them...we did it to save $$

They certainly aren't mandatory!! I've only been to 1 wedding that had them and I thought it was such a cute idea. Something for the guests to follow along with. But if you don't like it then don't worry about it!

not a must, but if your wedding has any different traditions that you're incorporating, it'd be a nice gesture for the guests, so they understand its meaning.

I AGREE!!!! I didn't do them & can't say I've ever been to a wedding with them.

Definitely not a must but if you have the time or money, it might be nice DIY or add them in. We're having a late ceremony and reception so to move up the dinner time as much as possible we're going to have menus. That way the guests can start deciding what to order as soon as they get to the table.

Exactly. It was really important to me to do programs because we had an interfaith ceremony and I really wanted to explain rituals so both families understood the other's religions.

I thought menus were a nice touch, so I did those too. But, nothing is a must!

Re: R Progams and Menus a Must?

Totally not a necessity. I am very detail oriented and I want every little thing for my wedding, but I have decided that I may not get the programs or menus done. I hope to get to it but there are other details that I am more concerned with. Also, I think it would be strange in an invitation. What I may do is put the programs and menus together into one. My ceremony and reception are at the same place, so everyone will be right there with their programs anyway.
