Okay, I know, it sounds really mean......but my interfaith rabbi (a vendor on theknot) is charging me $850. At our last meeting she said that we would need to pay for her car service to/from Manhattan to White Plains. Well, she just emailed me that it would be $175
I did not think that it would be that much and we are not in much of a position to deal with it. She is older and probably doesn't want to take the train but she never told us we had to pay transportation fees when we booked her.

Yikes! Any relatives in the city? Maybe someone could pick her up and then you can get a car service just to take her back....it won't be nearly as expensive that way. Or is that not even an option?

Re: Rabbi Rant
My Rabbi is charging me $500. He isn't very religious and said that it doesn't matter if we have Kippahs for the guests and if everyone's shoulders are covered or not.
Another Rabbi quoted me $600 after asking me the location, catering and number of people, etc. When I asked him why he needed to know and if he can lower his rate, he said, 'If you can afford that caterer for that many people, then you can afford me!' Religion can sometimes be a rip off. I hung up on him.

Re: Rabbi Rant
wow! that's pretty high. The thing is they realize that there is nothing you can really do at this point... 22 days away from the wedding

Re: Rabbi Rant
Our church charged us $550 - this included the church, priest, singer, and organist.

Re: Rabbi Rant
I can recommend Rabbi Alan Stein. He's on LIW too. He officiated our wedding and he's in LI. Good luck!
