Rabbi who speaks Russian

Hey ladies,
I know I already started a post asking for Rabbi help, and you all have been great! So Thank you so much! However, I recently learned that my mom insists we have a Rabbi that can at least say a few words in Russian (to accommodate my older relatives, etc...). I don't really have any issues with this, other than the fact that it's a major headache trying to find one. Please please please help me out here! Maybe you have some friends that recently got married that had a Rabbi that spoke some Russian. Anything will help!! TIA!!

Re: Rabbi who speaks Russian

I have a couple of Russian friends at work - I will ask if they know anyone - unless you just wanted a Russian woman who is Jewish to translate???

Re: Rabbi who speaks Russian

That would be awesome, if you can ask your friends!! And a Russian woman translator wouldn't work...It's gotta be a Rabbi. Thanks so much !!!!

Re: Rabbi who speaks Russian

So I spoke to my co-worker - she said there are tons of them in Brooklyn - she said that she had a Rabbi for her father's funeral and is sure that he does weddings (She's gonna find the info)....The problem she said is finding one who will travel to LI. She also told me to ask another co-worker who may know one more locally! I'm on the hunt for you!

I'm originally from Brooklyn, so I'm not surprised she said that LOL!! We had a Rabbi who spoke at my grandfather's funeral who was very well spoken and well-versed in both languages...but, i can't get over the whole funeral thing. I just think i have an issue with a Rabbi who speaks at funerals officiate our wedding...u know what I mean?
I appreciate your help TREMENDOUSLY!!!!!!

Hey, Just a question, who did you end up picking? I am also Russian and on the hunt for a Russian speaking rabbi, however, I met with Rabbi Greenblatt and he does not speak Russian, all he can say in Russian is Congradulations. Rabbi Stepanovsky is great however he is not a real Rabbi, he is a cantor which means I need a real Rabbi to be there as well.

Any help will be appreciated.
