Rain on your wedding day

Rain on your wedding day

I just looked at the forecast for the next week and it might rain on my wedding day. If it rained on your day, what did you do for pictures, was there anything special you did and how did you feel that day?

TIA,
Kelly

It rained on my wedding day, but fortunately had stopped prior to the ceremony, so we didn't have any trouble with taking pictures. You could always do more pictures in the church or at the reception hall. I imagine that's what winter brides do because of the cold.

I had rain on my day. We just took all of our pics at our hall, we really didn't have any other options.

Don't let the weather bother you -it's still going to be the best day for you and your FH.

How about Old Westbury Gardens, which is close to your reception site. htey are a new vendor on here, and i think they have a mansion where you can take nice shots inside. but you will probably have to get a permit.

If you are using hotels, call and ask if you can take pictures there. That is what I did and had as a back up. Fortunately, it didn't rain during our picture taking.

That's cute. I always figured that if it rained on my day, I'd love a photo of FI and I kissing outside!

I agree with Old Westbury Gardens but I think they charge to take photos there.

That's so cute!

I honestly was completely unaware of the weather on my wedding day. I *think* it had rained and the ground was wet...But I wasn't really paying attention. I am pretty sure it wasn't sunny. And I know for sure that it wasn't raining when we were going and coming out of the church--but other than that...

The weather held out for me up until the CH then it rained. We still had more 'must take' photos left so we took them inside the hall.

If it does happen to rain, try to use it to your advantage for some interesting shots. Go and buy everyone in the BP big black umbrellas and go ahead with your outdoor shots.

ETS- Also, you may want to try a train station (Grand Central if you could) and get some shots there. A mall might even work. Your pictures wouldn't be traditional, but they would certainly be original.

well it rained the night before into the morning and stopped by the time we were in the car to get our hair done thankfully but when it came to pictures that's another story..it turned out to be a beautiful day so of course we wanted outside shots. it was really muddy and my train was filthy by the time my ceremony rolled around..you couldn't see it though because it was the underneath part of the train so don't worry about it..and my shoes were ruined because although my photographer had me take them off almost each time we went to a new shot, there were times i left them on by accident..no worries again though because you couldn't see them either!!!

It rained on our wedding day & we still took a ton of pictures outside @ the planting fields aboretum (mostly under the overhang of a huge old building). But we have lots of great pics including cute ones with umbrellas & rain hats etc. Just break out the umbrellas & sneaks and have fun with it!
