I saw a commercial for Maine last night.
Guess they are trying to boost tourism. It looks beautiful.
How long is the drive?

It is SOOOOOOO beautiful here. Particularly in the summer...actually, I take that back, all the seasons are incredible here!
From LI to Portland (which is the 'city') you could do in 6-7 hours. Our town is another hour north of there.
Are you thinking of taking a trip up??? If you are, I'd suggest coming in early June or September...the weather is still wonderful but we aren't officially in tourist season (which is INSANE!!)

I used to spend every summer at Moosehead Lake. My grandmother had a cabin. I also have relatives in Bangor and Ellsworth that I see every couple years.

This September we are going to a wedding in Portland.... I can't wait!

Isn't the Ellsworth/Bar Harbor area incredible?!? It's my absolute FAVORITE place in all of New England. We plan on going staying there for a few nights after the wedding! I CAN'T wait!
