So, on Thursday before we left for the weekend, we forgot to drop off a suit at the cleaners.
This morning, we were going to try and find a 1 day cleaner to clean a suit. I feel crappy, and don't want to go out, and, he couldn't find one, anyway.
I was thinking I'll stop on my way home from work tonight and buy Dryel (sp?) from the supermarket - and throw the suit in the dryer for a few (so it's not gross and smelly) - and then iron it, with a towel over it.
Think that will work?? Has anyone ever used that Dryel stuff? Do they even make it anymore?

Re: Random ??? about dry cleaning.
i never used it before, but does the suite have any stains. if not i would just wear it as is. spray some febreeze on it and your ready to go. if hes only going to wear it for an hour or two. dont think im a dirty girl, LOL, but i just dont know about the dryel. good luck on his interview!

Thanks! It's not stained - or dirty, it just smells like smoke.
But, it is a little wrinkly - it definitely needs to be ironed!
I know you aren't supposed to iron suits - so, I figured that putting a towel over it would be okay!

I've never used it... but it can't hurt to just try to freshen it up if it really needs it. Also, my FH irons his suits every day and he doesn't use a towel. Just make sure the settings are right for the material. Good luck to FH on his interview!!

I have used it and it works well it will def freshen up the suit. just remember to take it out of the bag after to sit in the air for a while to get rid of the dryel smell
but you should have no prob using it, esp since its not dirty

not sure about the dryel but this may work- you can run hot water in the shower and get it steamy and hang the suit in the bathroom the hot steam should get out odors and usually takes wrinkles out (if it isn't stained) my suits at work are machine wash to bad it is dry clean only
you may also want to use the febreeze that musicgrl mentioned hope either way it works out

I don't know about dryel BUT you take the suit to the cleaners now and have them press it and then hang it outside with some frebreeze and that should take the smell out.
That will also save you a trip to the store.

Re: Random ??? about dry cleaning.
Thanks, girls!
FH just emailed me, saying I made him sound like a 'rube with only 1 suit.'
Just for FH: He has more than 1 suit. Here's what he does:
He wears the jacket, and then throws it in the backseat of the car, then it gets gross and needs to be dry cleaned.
