Random Bath Mat question...

Is there a reason that you have to get a bath mat with a rubber back for a tile floor, or can I get one without a rubber back and just put one of those rubber non-skid pads underneath like I have for other area rugs? The rubber always seems to fall apart, and I worry that I'm damaging my washing machine...

I don't have a bath mat, when we take showers we a use a towel instead (bath mat size - its easy to clean and it matches my towels)

I am not sure if you HAVE to have a rubber backed mat but I think they rubber liner and the regular rug may have problems staying straight.

I would think the traditional mats would be okay on your tile. They are very popular.

As far as the washing machine, my mom has always washed her in the washer and had no problems. Me either.

It will prevent slipping

I have a bath mat question.

I recently washed our mats for the first time and they took forever to dry in the dryer! I was afraid to put it onhigh heat because i was afraid they would catch on fire! How do you dry your bath mats?

My question is how often do you wash them?

I air dry my mats.

We use a bathmat, well rug. It does not have a rubber back and we have tile floors. I never had a problem with slipping, but I don't keep it out all the time either. When we are finished with our shower, it gets draped over the tub to promote drying and gets washed once a week. (our spare bathmat is more like a towel weight, this is like a curly loop rug)

Our toilet rug however, does have rubber on the back and I know what you mean... it starts to crumble.
