I'll admit i'm pretty white... FH can be outside for a few hours and be complete TAN... if i did that, i'd be BURNT. We have my FSIL and friends wedding this coming week and i'm wearing a cocktail dress (one shoulder)... you'll laugh but i still have my tan lines from LAST YEAR... Sooo ideally i'd like to look more tan (for the weddings, INCLUDING my own in August and not to look like a ghost, lol)
Would you... lay out tomorrow, go tanning a few times this week OR do the spray tan? I was thinking the spray tan but will I look WHITE one day and TAN the next? I don't want it to look funny.

Re: Random Tanning Question
I have never had any luck with spray tans, so I am going to say (yes I know its bad for you) go tanning a couple times. If you lay out you might just burn and also you will still have lines. If you go tan a couple times you can get a little color and it will be even.

Re: Random Tanning Question
I would go to a tanning salon. Thats what I plan to do before my wedding. Since I can't lay out too much with my 15month old keeping me busy. Just make sure to space it out enough. If you burn easily start out with a few minutes & work up from there.

Re: Random Tanning Question
I am also quite fair skinned. I recent bought TanTowels to try. I haven't used them yet - but I hear they are supposed to be really good. I was looking at reviews on Sephora & Amazon, and most people seem to like them, especially since they won't rub off like the lotions can.
I've also been spray tanned (booth not person) before. It was ok for a day or so, but then started to rub off on my clothes. I think if I was going to spray tan again I would go to an actual person.

Re: Random Tanning Question
Im all about natural tanning in the sun.. Tanning beds freak me out lol and some spray tans can actually come off on clothes so I wont do that either... Maybe try a protective tanning oil? I have been laying out a little bit each weekend so I wont look like Casper for my wedding haha

Re: Random Tanning Question
I spray tan a lot LOL I am actually scared to go tanning now because I was a tanning salon girl and now I have a freckle that was never there and I am going to go to a doctor but if its not natural sun then spray is what I say! My girl is AWESOME! I am sprayed in everything E-Party, E-Pics, Bachelorette Party, and Wedding

Re: Random Tanning Question
I'm like you. I burn and then tan and I keep the lines for a year! I actually went tanning 5 times before the wedding and once more before the HM. I didn't really care about how pale I was, it was more so on the HM I didn't burn. and it worked. I only got burnt in a couple areas that I missed with sunscreen one day. I also used spf 100 though. LOL. It took me a long time to get any color though. I went in for 7 minutes the first time and worked my way up to about 10. Once I went to a different place (my 4th time) and their beds burnt me! Every other time it was like a couple shades darker each time. Nothing anyone would notice without a tan line.

Re: Random Tanning Question
Spray tan all the way! it's OK to lay out here & there but too much tanning bed & the sun make you premature wrinkle!
Find a really good airbrush spray tan place.. don't go to a cheap tanning place like alaska or beach bum. there are a lot of good places in the city.
do a test run now so you can decide if you want it for your wedding day. good luck!

Re: Random Tanning Question
I'm a pretty fair skinned person as well, I would lay out but PLEASE don't go to the tanning bed!! Lay out, try the Jergens natural glow, and if you still aren't getting the color you want then try the spray tan. Tanning beds are evil.

Re: Random Tanning Question
i'm fair and Jergens never made a difference for me... The best results I get in a weeks time are from a tanning bed. I would go a few times adding a minute everytime

Re: Random Tanning Question
I like stand up tanning over beds. You get more even IMO and i don't feel like i'm in a coffin.
I don't go all the time but did for my wedding. start low (like 6 mins) and up a min each time. I think three times is fine.

Re: Random Tanning Question
does it work for old scars from eczema? Regular tanning doesn't darken those areas
