I went with FH to get his tux this past week and we got him a white shirt....But then someone asked me what color my dress was (Ivory) and they said he cant wear white....is that true?
What are you girls doing who have a ivory dress, is FH still wearing a white tux shirt?

I think he could wear white - I don't think it's a big deal. I didn't have ivory, I had like 'oyster', which darker than white, lighter than ivory. They had either white or ivory shirts and we chose white. It worked out great - it wasn't too white against my dress.

We chose the ivory shirt just because it looked better withthe tux but I think white woudl be fine.

Your never going to perfectly match the white/ivory. I think white is fine.

I am wearnig an ivory dress (although its not true ivory, its more of an off white) and FH is wearing an white shirt with an ivory vest and tie

the problem is often the white shirt makes an ivory dress look YELLOW.
I have a diamond white dress (in between white and ivory) and even that was noticable, but not too bad, so we went with that. I held up a swatch next to it.
It really depends on the designer of the dress and shirt though, can you get a swatch of your dress and go hold it up next to the shirt?
