Re: Rant!!!
I think it happens to everyone in the beginning of the engagement FH was really not that interested in the details. But as time gets closer you will see he will change. Don't worry.

Dont worry!! We've been dreaming about white dresses and orchids since we were little. They definitely werent. Im sure hes just way more concerned with the fact that hes going to have an amazing wife than napkin colors!! You are not alone

Re: Rant!!!
It sure is frustrating when FH doesnt wanna do anything or shows no interest in the planning, but im happy that hes not all up in it and lets me decide what i want/dont want or what i like/ dont like. He believes that since the reception is 'mostly for me' then I should just make all the decisions and he will tag along if he wants to be supportive.

That's the problem I had. It was very cool, but I kind of wished he would have let me d o a few things on my own without his input.

Re: Rant!!!
My DH only cared about a couple of things throughout most of the planning... it was like talking to a wall half the time! But when it got close (I mean like 2 months away, lol) he suddenly became interested. Just wait it out!!

Re: Rant!!!
FH is more than willing to help with me with stuff if I ask him to do something.. but if it were totally up to him he probably wouldn't be too involved..

Re: Rant!!!
every guy is different with this stuff. DH picked out just a few things that he really cared about (guest list, DJ and music selection, and food). The rest he left up to me. It was a great way to do things.

Re: Rant!!!
My advice is to not force him to do the things you know hes not interested in. Men have one track minds food.. and honeymoon hehe.
what i did was the guest list myself and then went over it with him and made changes sometimes i think hes like a 5year old boy and cannot pay attention for too long Also make it fun involve food or games or whatever motivates him. If he doesnt realize hes doing the tasky kind of wedding stuff he'll think its fun and want to help!
My FH has lots of imput but when it comes to doing anything i cannot find him. hes come to all apts with me and we talk about wedding stuff none stop but things like flowers, bathroom baskets, etc. i just tell him what im doing. and then hes more interested in the things he wants to be interested in and i dont get frustrated that he wants nothing to do with the planning!
HTH!

I've also been very lucky. FH is totally willing to help out with the wedding planning. He's done so much that I feel so fortunate! Maybe there are some areas your FH would be more interested in being involved in than others.
I have to admit, some aspects of wedding preparations and planning are less exciting than others, but they HAVE to be done.
I wish you luck! Hang in there!

Re: Rant!!!
Welcome to the club. I try to just pick things out and give him 2 choices that he likes. That way he doesn't get overwhelmed and annoyed. I also have to pick 'the right times' to talk to him or else he gets annoyed with me because I always want a answer right away. The small decisions I just make on my own because he won't know the difference anyway.

Re: Rant!!!
boys will be boys... they can't help it and it's not intentional..so TRY not to let it bother u! My DH(fh at the time) came to the major vendor meetings with me..those he enjoyed 'cause he's a business man & negotiator lol..but other than that it was all me & my girls! Luckily between them & my mom i had a lot of help..had they not been there, dh woulda had no choice! lol
