So fh and I just kinda had a little tiff or shall i say large arguement.......
My parents are on a fixed income upstate raising horses and live off my dads pention and still pay for the mortgage on the house and land up there. They have done MORE then enough for this wedding, ie bought centerpieces, favors, some money towards the wedding and our honeymoon excl. the plane tickets.. and that is MORe then enough.. Not to mention the help while I was in between jobs.
His mother owns her own insurance agency and lives in PA and does well for herself and she has not even EFFIN OFFERED ANYTHING... on top of that when we go to visit her in PA since her home is all cherry wood and pristine she refuses my child (dog) to be in the house. We have to sleep with her in the basement or in the garage.. that burns me more then anything.. I mean i wouldnt take anything BUT SHE NEVER EVEN OFFERS!!! ***>!>!>!>!>!>
UGGGGH IM SOO PISSED!!!
anyone else exp. this??? and how do you deal.. Im gonna snap!!!!

Re: RANT... FMIL
mannn i thought i had it bad, my fmil only offered to pay for flowers and the rehersal dinner. now to some people this may sound like a lot but i am only having bridal party flowers no floral cernter pieces or anything and the rehersal dinner....i`d rather just have somthing back at my mom`s and take t he money she would have spent towards other things i really need.....but fh refuses to ask her!!! so i feel your pain....as for the dog aka your child i`d be soo annoyed!! to the point i think i`d skip out on a few visits to her!!! good luck and try not to stress too much!!!

Oh that is upsetting! I'm sorry to hear that she's being difficult...does your FH not want to talk to her about it?
My FMIL hasn't offered to pay for anything else and the FH's family has considerably more money than mine, but they also live abroad.

Re: RANT... FMIL
It's 2007 and you and your FH are adults. If you choose to have a wedding, it's wonderful for your families to help out, but it's not required. The good part is that if you pay for it yourself, you have total control over the wedding. If your FMiL wants a say, or wants a bunch of invitations, tell her 'sorry, we can't afford it.' Or just 'no.'
And if she doesn't want your dog in her house and you can't travel without it, then don't visit her.

I agree with Pencils. No, it's not fair that your FMIL isn't helping while your parents are doing so at a sacrifice to themselves, but ultimately it's FMIL's money and she can do what she likes with it. On the bright side, if she has an opinion about the wedding you disagree with, she doesn't have the leverage to force you to do something you don't want.
I'm afraid this is just one of those instances where life isn't fair. You'll probably just have to let it go. GL.
