RANT: Holiday Inn Hauppauge
Ugh...I dont even know where to begin!
I'll start by saying that several months ago before I booked, I was promised one thing--once we booked they changed their story. Well now they changed their story again! They are charging $150 per room (at a holiday inn mind you when the Hilton and Sheraton are charging less for nicer rooms). They refused to negotiate at all--they wouldnt even allow us to use FI's military discount. They originally told us for every 10 rooms booked we would $100 off the bridal suite. then they changed that story to 'oh only the first 20 rooms, then after that the price doesnt go any lower than $149'. Well, yesterday I called to see how many rooms were already booked--according to their list we had 8. In reality, we had over 11 (several people booked for 2 nights instead of one--but they are only counting it as one room even though they are making revenue off of two)!!!! When i called to discuss it they wouldnt budge. So I said--'but if i called and booked the two seperate nights under different names you would count it as two rooms!'--so the woman tells me that I'm 'borderline slimmy'
!!!!! ***?! The way they are running their business is slimmy! They lied to me about how they count the rooms twice (not to mention their room count policy is not written on the contract anywhere so they have no basis).
We're canceling and going with the Hilton--I advise you guys to be careful with this hotel! It may seem like a good deal at first (with the breakfast and shuttle) but trust me there are a zillion catches and stipulations that they dont tell you about until after you sign the contract!
