Rant or Not?: Imagine Studios

Rant or Not?: Imagine Studios

So I got this coupon from the Fourtunoff event for a free engagement sitting. The owner of the studio Leah Diaz refuses to honor it.

She states that the coupon is only valid for a photo/video contract signed.

This is what the coupon reads....

IMAGINE STUDIOS awards you

$200 upgrade to any photography/video contract signed

-----------------OR-----------------------

Free engagemet sitting ($300 value)

Then in fine print ...
(Cannot be combined with any other offer.)

Does anyone else think I am reading this coupon wrong??

I have the same thing and was thinking the same as you...but then i figured they wouldnt just give it away-----sooo, i think their wording is a bit off- probably purposely
maybe you can fight it on principle

hmmm it is poorly worded, but i think you're supposed to read the 'OR' part in conjunction with the first sentence 'to any photography/video contract signed'

She gave me an atitude on the phone, really nasty. I asked her for her first and last name.

Wasn't she the photographer who was on Fox News one night?

ETA: to fix typo

The coupon has this huge line separating the top and bottom portions with the word OR in between.

I think it should be clearer- like 'Free engagement sitting with signed contract'. I could see their intention- sign a contract with them and either get the upgrade OR the engagement shoot- BUT it is very fuzzy.

I too might have thought it was a free sitting. I wonder if the owner is going to get a flood of people now wanting free sittings. But really, if you own a business, you should be more careful about the ways things are worded to avoid problems like the one you had. I would be annoyed if I were you.

It says Upgrade? To me that means you get more then what you pay for. My head is fuzzy from Cold meds. Maybe im wrong.
