Ahhhh I hate when people try to rip you off! As some of you know my RH drama (my fault...well FMIL fault - not RH)
I have an amazing florist for my reception but I still have their house florist credit.... so i decided to use them just for the cocktail hour and aisle (how can you mess up babys breath with no other flower)
They are trying to tell me that what I want (all babys breath) is gonna be an upgrade from the rose daisy and babys breath flowers they provide to me at a credit!
Are you JOKING!?!?! Baby's breath is a filler flower and way cheaper than almost all other flowers.
Needless to say I ripped her head off and now she is going to look at my pictures of what I want and re-do her quote.
PS: I am also providing all the ribbon and most likely the vases too... they just need to give me the baby's breath.
If i filled the entire RH with baby's breath it would still be cheaper than the quote they gave me.
So a word of advice - make sure you know what flowers cost what before you meet with a florist - that is the easiest place to get ripped off because they assume you don't know any better!
ok Rant over thanks for listening.
PS: I am coming to the island this weekend if anyone wants to try and have a brides brunch on sunday in the massapequa area!!!!

Re: RANT: the importance of knowing prices!!!
my friend did huge balls of baby's breath as her centerpieces for her wedding and her florist charged her the same price as any other centerpiece.

but I am not talking about a huge ball. I am talking about a small single vase like a single vase like these:
My sister had just babys breath for her CPs similar to yours just in a tall vase, and they were more expensive than most other flowers. They are apparently not just filler and are fairly expensive when you need a lot. ETA this was also news to us!

then your sister might have been ripped off or charged alot for the vases. The florist I am using for the Reception told me all of this...plus researching wholesale florists online...
baby's breath is way cheaper than roses... I can guarantee that.
I can get 20 bunches (8-9 stems per bunch) for $189.00
I could do something like this which is 7 -9 stems per vase and provide my own lace.
