Do people have the RD the night before there wedding?

I have heard people have The RD as far as a week in advance. I want there to be a gap so that people that have to travel aren't driving back and forth all weekend . . .

I had mine the night before b/c most of my Bridal party live out-of-town--and alot flew in for the wedding the day before.

My rehearsal and dinner is the Friday before my Sunday wedding.

I have a lot of people out of town and if I have a week before they wouldn't be at my RD and I really want them there. Also they are in my BP

Thats the situation we were in, which is why we had it friday night and the wedding was saturday. Its fun, you feel like you have a weekend long wedding!
