Def NO on the favors & assigned seating...people will just sit wherever.

I have been to rehearsal dinners wher bride & groom thanked the bridal party & thier parents-but it was very brief...just a few words.

Re: RD help..

WE are having approx 50-60 people @ our RD, NOOOOO assigned seating 2 much to think about, sit where ever they want, just easier that way........And a big hell no with favors! They get their gifts that night and favors that next day thats good enough......

Assigned seating??? Umm, nope. The seating chart for the wedding itself is enough work for one bride to do!

Favors?? Again, nope. The guest will get favors at the wedding itself. Do you really need an extra expense?

Gifts? No extra table necessary unless they are so big that they don't fit in a bag that you can just keep at your feet under the table. As is the case with our GMs gifts. You can just hand them out after any toasts.

Toasts? Not by the BP, but it is customary for the hosts (usually the groom's parents) to say a few words. Also the groom generally says something.

Re: RD help..

We're having the same amount of people and we're not doing a seating chart or favors. We are planning on thanking everyone for coming (very short since we're doing the same thing at the wedding).

As for gifts for the BP, we're going to go around to them and distribute them after the main course is completed.

Re: RD help..

We also had an RD for about 60 people. We chose to assign seating... I feel that sometimes it makes it easier for the guests and DH and I did not have to 'choose' who to sit with. We gave out OOT bags out at the RD. We made NY Survival kits with maps, bottles of water, snacks, advil, etc. and left them on each guests chair. We left the bridal party gifts on their chairs (again... it helped that we had assigned seating). After a mini-cocktail hour, we kicked off the night by thanking everyone for coming. After that, the bridal party roasted FH and I! It was so funny and lasted throughout dinner. Then more mingleing and cocktails during dessert. It was a great way to kick off the wedding weekend!!

Re: RD help..

We had about 25 people at our RD and we didn't have assigned seating, favors, or grooms cake.

We had dinner, cake, and we gave out gifts to BP and Grandparents.

Save yourself the aggrivation.
Dont do assigned seating.
Toasts are optional by anyone... i think the host of the RD usually makes it

As far as gifts.. Just present them to everyone after dinner and have them all open them up together.

You have a wedding to plan. The RD should be laid back & stress free
