RD invite poem -- does this rhyme?

Does this rhyme?

A Rehearsal Dinner

In anticipation of Lisa
and David's big day,
We wouldn't want it
any other way.
Than in the company of those
near and dear,
without whom we would never
have gotten here.
In great food, wine and conversation
we will delight,
Please join us at Pomodoro's on July 28,
half past six on Friday night.

I think it needs a BIT more work... you're off to a great start! Take a break from it and go back to it... that's when things usually fall into place better. Let me know if you would like any help! I tend to be pretty good at this stuff. .

Okay... I'm tired... but here's what I came up with. I may be able to add more tomorrow with the 'people who mean the most' verse. I just think it's best to keep it in the same 'person' throughout the poem so that it flows better....

but that's just me! HTH!

Pre-Wedding Get Together!

The Night Before
Lisa and David Say 'I Do'
They'd love to spend
Some time with You!

Please meet at Pomodoro's
Friday, July 28th,
6:30 is the time
To drink, laugh and celebrate!

Okay... so first of all... I wouldn't CALL it a Rehearsal Dinner because they're all going to wonder when the rehearsal is. Call it a Casual Get Together! Or Our Last Night Before We Tie the Knot!

I think that sounds great the way it is (if you like it, of course!) I'm glad I could help! . (I changed it to Two Nights Before)

Good luck!
