We're planning the RD but FH's grandparents actually gave us a check for it (or whatever else we wanted to use the money for) awhile ago.
I'm trying to word the invites and, even though we aren't 'hosting' it, everyone is supposed to RSVP to FH and myself. So ... give that the 'usual' wording seems to be 'Join us for a RD in honor of Bride & Groom...' is it weird if we're saying that it's in honor of us, but then they're RSVP'ing to us (weird in that clapping for yourself at an awards ceremony kind of way ).
FH's grandparents don't want to be mentioned on the invite as hosting it either, so we can't saying that 'Grandparents invite you to a RD in honor of...'
So, is the 'in honor of' weird if they're RSVP'ing to us? The invites I bought on ebay seem to lend themselves better to that wording that just 'Join us for a RD on the eve of our wedding...'
what if you write...hosted by...somewhere on the bottom...thats what i am going to do

Re: RD invite question -- 'in honor of' ...
I did
'in honor of'
and then
'hosted by' at the bottom.
I think it's fine.

Here's the issue with putting 'hosted by'-- FH is concerned that his father will be upset by that since he is *supposed* to host and, in fact, did offer to do so. His father did make a generous contribution to our general wedding fund though. FH doesn't want to draw attention to the fact that someone else is hosting it.

That's pretty good!! I might have to change the last sentence since this is a non-rehearsal RD FH says we're not referring to it that way on the invite though -- he's so picky sometimes!
