RD- Is FMIL getting ripped off? Suggestions please..
I was so excited when FMIL booked our RD a couple of weeks ago until she showed me the menu. She's paying $23pp for a sit-down dinner in a private room that includes soup, salad, one of 5 entrees, dessert/coffee. It's an additional $17.50 (yes you read that correctly) for unlimited beer, wine and soda! She thought we'd have a cash bar but I'm not comfortable with that. It's a nice place but I just don't think it's worth the $$.
What do you guys think and can you share what you're paying and where? TIA
ETA: RD is on a Thursday night.

WOW! That sounds realy high for beer, wine and soda. All the places we've checked out for RD were charging betwen 7.00 - 10.00pp, although the meals were runnign higher. I guess it all evens out in the end.

ours was similar....$23.95 pp, choice of 1 of 3 salads, appetizers included on tables, choice of 1 of 6 entrees, and dessert and coffee/tea/soda. Don't remember what the open was but we did a cash bar and everyone was fine with it!

that is a lot for beer, wine and soda..i would see if there was a way they can provide crafes on each table..it works out cheaper sometimes since everyone does not drink.

Can you just have unlimited soda but run a tab for the beer and wine?

That's a lot extra for beer, wine and soda. And you should have more than one choice of entree. JMO

How many are at the dinner? Some times if it is under a minimum they might try and make it up in the bar tab.

The dinner price seems reasonable Jeannie but the price for those unlimited beverages? I would have her check that again!

I agree, I think 17 is a lot of money for adding the drinks.

I don't think the price is totally crazy.... our RD place charges an additional 12 per person for unlimited beer, wine, & soda... we will then run a tab for liquor....

alcohol is the most expensive part of the meal. I don't think the quote is that high.
