In Melville FH and I went to a restaurant right on 110 called the Rosewood Inn. The food was excellent. I dont know if that is the type of place that you are looking for but they do have a large private room.

I had suggested Rosewood to FMIL. It is very nice there.

I haven't been there since the opened, so I'm not up to date....
Are they still hideously expensive? I recall spending $150 for a dinner for 2....

Another place that has a private room is Mangiamo in Huntington Village (used to be called 'Tello') Roger, the owner, turned it into a Family Style restaurant, but they have a completely separate private room upstairs. HTH!

I don't know if this helps, but FFIL booked ours at Matteo's...I've heard good things and not a million dollars a person..it's just dinner and they gave us a room that didn't start at 8 PM the day before the wedding...hope that helps..good luck!
EDITED to say OMG...you are getting married the day of our RD...heehee...I'll think of you!!

What about Meehan's? I know that they have a private room. They located in Huntington. I believe it is in the Village.

The Blue Honu...there's a private room upstairs that overlooks the downstairs. Cirella's is good too but I'm not sure if they have a private room

i dont think they have a private room but the room we sat in was sperated by a curtain but other people were eathing there ....

i really dont know work paid for it ... but we werent able to choose whatever we wanted the menu was preselected kinda like at a wedding

Thanks guys!! These were all places I wa thinking of...Rosewood, Cirella's, Matteo's, Red, 34 New St., Meehan's, etc...
I think my FMIL should find something out of all those!!! Thank you again!!!

Look into FH Riley's. I know a friend of mine went to a 30th birthday-- I'm pretty sure they have a back room. I've had drinks at the bar and it's a relaxed, yet modern/artsy environment.
