im looking into BK Sweeneys in Bethpage. I think they have a menu for $20 pp + tax.
I am having my RD there - for a sit down dinner + beer & wine it comes out to about $45 pp..... The food there is fabulous though - and it's where FH and I met - so it's worth it!

Re: RD $$? Personal question!!
i refuse to spend over $26.00 pp and you know what, there will be open bar at the wedding so unfort. everyone will have to buy their own drink at the bar..
the rd should not overshadow the wedding in my opinion..
I gave Daven Port Press a call..

Honestly, you are probably better off running a tab at the bar. The open bar option adds a lot of $ per person and you know that not everyone is going to be putting them back the night before the wedding. Some people might have a few drinks, but I don't know if it will be enough to justify tacking on additional $10-20/head for open bar. That's also taxed, right?

We had ours at Shandon Court in East Islip. I think we paid about $22 per person pluc tax/grat. It worked out better to run a tab for the bar so we did that. All the guests loved the food and everything ran smoothly.
We are having a casual BBQ at my parents house to avoid paying for a 'Mini' Wedding as a RD. This is better for us because we rather realx the night before and the casual setting will be great for that.
same here!

Re: RD $$? Personal question!!
going greek..
pegalos (sp??) on bell blvd in bayside
think we were quoted $25.95 plus gratuity.. lots of food and unlimited wine and soda...for a thursday night
trying doing it on a thursday or sunday night... you'll get better rates...and better service since most restaurants wont be packed with weekend customers..

That is where I was thinking of having mine but the private room that we wanted is upstairs and my Mom can't do stairs. Did you have it in a private room or did you have it in the dining room?

It was in the room upstairs. They asked me if everyone could handle stairs when I was booking. What about the room downstairs? Maybe if it's not booked they could section it off since it is pretty big.

I went to a RD for an 06 bride and she had it at Jani's in Rockville Center. It was really good chinese food and I think it came out to less than $20 per person with two free drinks per guest. Then they just ran a tab for alcohol.

Re: RD $$? Personal question!!
FMIL and I were pricing these this weekend. Most places had a 40 person minimum and our RD is only 23, so we needed a place without a minimum. Here's what I found:
Rosewood Inn in Melville: Cheapest menu is $30 pp +t/g/alcohol - 40 person minimum Bulldog Grille in Amityville (prob where we'll end up): $26 pp + t/g/ and $7 pp for unlimited beer and wine
Altogether FFIL figured it to be just under $1,000

Sergio's Italian Restaurant in Massapequa. We're having about 35 people. It's $24 pp including beer, wine, and soda. Salad, choice of 3 appetizers, and a choice of like 10 entrees, plus cake, cookies, and coffee.
