I know your supposed to invite the bridal party along with their bf.gf, wife, dh, etc. but what if they are not in a relationship? Is it proper to invite with a guest or not necessary?

Re: RD question
I never even thought about that, but I think I will invite with a guest, just so they don't feel left out.

Re: RD question
if they are not in a relationship i don't think there is anything wrong with inviting them to RD alone. I am usually pretty adminant about inviting people with a guest to things cause both FH and I have been insulted many times being invited to weddings alone (one even a friend of mine refused to let me bring him when we were dating for 6 months already). But RD's I think a different, but maybe I am wrong!!!

Re: RD question
I feel as though if they are invited with a guest to the wedding it is proper to invite to RD as well. But if no than NO......and if they are bringing a date just to bring a date to the wedding than NO as well!

Re: RD question
For the RD's I've known of: If it's a small # of people or your willing to spend the $$, or if they will know no one there then I would +1 them. If you have a a lot of people coming then I would think it's OK to invite just them. They get to bring their guest to the wedding. This one RD was so big that they only invited wives or husbands of the BP no GF/BF (which my friend thought was not so nice considering she knows this couple very well and has been with her BF, who was a GM, for longer than the couple getting married we together!).

Re: RD question
Honestly, if they are NOT married or in a serious relationship, or any relationship for that matter I wouldn't invite with a guest. Once you start doing that, it can snowball and cost a lot more $$$. I like RDs that more intimate and casual instead of a mini-wedding.

Re: RD question
im only having the bridal party and no family (not close with them at all) and i think it would only be 2 girls who curently arent in relationships so now that i think about it, for another say 30 or so pp, its not a big deal to invite with a guest but its good to know that im not really obligated to if i made that choice.
thanks!!!!!

Re: RD question
Thats a good question. I never thought about that either. I'm not sure what I would do. I thought it was just the wedding party and family only at the RD. The dates are invited to the wedding and I wouldnt mind if their dates came but I would just want to keep the cost low more than anything else.

Re: RD question
We aren't because the room we have is small. FH and I went back and forth with this but the money we would save will help us pay for the wedding. I think our BP understands.

Re: RD question
I would allow everyone to bring their dates. It will give their dates a chance to meet everyone

Re: RD question
for the RD it might be kind of awkward if they bring someone that no one has met since it is such an intimate event

Re: RD question
I think the RD should be more intimate. I think it's ok not to invite everyone with a guest. If I wasn't in a relationship with someone and was asked to go as a date to a rehearsal dinner I think I would feel weird and a little out of place.

I don't think that you have to invite them with a guest
