to get a visa gift card with a walmart or cvs gift card?

I have a card that I have a ton of points on and some expire in december. I was hoping to be able to use them for SOMETHING on my honeymoon, but there's really nothing I can use them for. I can get a $100 gas card, but I can only get a gift card for certain stations and we're going to alaska, and there, the only one they have is chevron (that's the only one near my hotel that is a brand name). so, i am gonna call that gas station and see if they will take the gift card - but what i'd LOVE to do is get a walmart or cvs gift card with my points and then use that to buy a visa gift card, so i can use it for anything on the hm.

does anyone know if they let you buy visa gift cards with store gift cards?? I have a feeling the answer is no and I don't want a $100 cvs gift card if I can't do that

not sure what credit card you have but DH and I each have citicards and you get cash back. Every time you hit $50 in rewards you can request for them to cut you a check.

When we signed up they had a promotion for 5% cash back on groceries, gas and prescriptions (most of my spending at the time) and 1% for everything else and now I think it dropped down to 2% for groceries/gas/spending and 1% for everything else but it's still free money! i'd rather have cash to spend on whatever i want, than have to get gift cards to random places.

We try to put most of our purchases on the citicards to get points and then pay the balance off at the end of each month.

Edit: or you can sell the gas card to someone you know who would use it at maybe 90% of face value and get cash back for it.

I got a $250 neiman marcus gift card from something back in the day and there are no NM in NY so i just put it on ebay and got like $220 for it.

I will probably get the gas card and use it on the trip. I have a choice priv. card - for the choice hotel line because when we go anywhere over night, we usually stay at a comfort inn, etc. I got it last year when we were going to nh to look at areas we wanted to maybe move to, and they had this promotion - join and use the card 2x in the first month, and you get 3 free nights. So we got the whole trip free basically. I hoped we could use it to get a gift card to a car rental place or something - but of course the car rental places they offer cards to are NOT in alaska! hertz is but they are soooo expensive, it doesn't make sense to get $100 off when the car is $250 more than dollar or budget, you know?
