Re: recipe swaps...

I'm just announcing that I am not going to host the recipe swaps anymore...

I would be more than happy to pass the torch and continue to participate...but I'm not sure I can take the 'anxiety' of cards not coming in...

I will mail what I have for Feb...and will finish the March swap with you guys

You did a great job Erica!!! I will take it on if the ladies want to continue. Can we keep the site you set up running? I am moving this weekend so I am going to be a little nuts to get the April one started.

Should we take a month off or Can someone help set up the choices and I can go from there?

we still have March this month coming to me...so would april be too soon for you to recieve packages?

Erica
Thanks for hosting through March and for continuing to work on the site.

I think we need to put a due date policy in place. Stuff happens, mail gets lost, people get caught up and we roll with it. How about setting a firm mailing date each month. Late entries will be returned to the creator for distribution. This way the host does not have to do two mailings. JMO

Jen if you think April is going to be too tight for you I can do the April mailing.

Looking forward to receiving those Feb. recipes.

I thought about this...but what does everyone do with the extra recipes that they made?

Thanks Erica for all your hard work. That is the same reason why I did not want to do another card swap....

Re: Re: recipe swaps...

April should be fine for me. I have no problem having it all sent to me and then swaping them out.

If everyone wants to continue lets keep going.

Thanks for taking this on Jen. I would also like to see it continue.

Good point Erica. I was thinking along the lines of late/lost recipe cards not cards that never show. I have never participated in swaps before. I guess sometimes you just get stuck. Do any of you have experience with other swaps? How is this handled?

I have been in swaps where almost all of my things were returned due to people not sending in their items. These people or 'flakers' are typically banned from participating in future swaps.

It's not fair to the timely swappers to have to wait, the costs of getting your wares returned is non recoverable, especially for a recipe swap. It's not like a card swap where you can always use more cards.

And it's frustrating and stressful to the hostess.

Re: Re: recipe swaps...

I think one major problem is the mail, or that it is being used as an excuse. I think all items need to be sent ith soem sort of tracking attached, ro delivery confirmation.

I understand the mailmen lose things, but every month they loose something, seems a bit strange, IMHO.

Every month i want to make less, since i know that all will not be needed. Last month I was going to make one less, since i ran out of paper, but went to the store and bought a new package of paper that i only needed one item from.
