RE : RING INSURANCE

I STILL HAVE NOT GOT MY RING INSURED
I WENT TO GET QUOTES AND THEY SAID IT DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH THE RING APPRAISES FOR THAT WILL DETERMINE HOW MUCH YOU WILL PAY A YEAR..

I DONT WANT IT UNDER MY DAD HOMEOWNERS.

I WANT A SEPERATE INSURANCE FOR THIS

DO YOU KNOW A COMPANY THAT WILL INSURE IT BY ITSELF THAT WILL BE REASONABLLY PRICED

Re: RE : RING INSURANCE

State Farm - I think. Although my policies are with them (car & house), I have a spearate policy for my ring. It's actually insured dually to me and FI. (FI doesn't appear on any of my other insurance policies - yet).

ETA - I pay about $140/year.

Re: RE : RING INSURANCE

I have mine through the same company my house is insured under, but I believe it's a separate policy. It's through Travellers.

I am doing the same thing - looking to insure my ring. Liberty Mutual - my home owners policy and car insurance policy is with them - wants $603 /year to insure my e-rinig. That is based on the appraisal of $18,110.40 though.

Chubb wants $720 /year ($40 per $1,000) since I live in Brooklyn.

Jeweler's Mutual is used by a lot of brides on this site too. You can get a quote on-line too.
Jeweler's Mutual estimate

They are $507 to insure my e-ring.

Re: RE : RING INSURANCE

Statefarm does. I have a separate insurance policy with them covering my fw engagement ring.

Re: RE : RING INSURANCE

We have Chubb. It is about $400ish. They have a calculation as to how much the policy will be though...It all depends on how much it appraises for really. Also you need to decide what you want incase something does happen to your ring. Most will replace the ring with the closest match out there...specs, etc. Chubb, Liberty Mutual, and Jewelers Mutual will actually cut you a check for the appraised amount.

Re: RE : RING INSURANCE

I said this yesterday. You should get an insurance appraisal. Not a jewelers appraisal. It will be much less. Don't worry, you will still be able to replace the ring if lost. The insurance appraisal should be for a little more than you paid. You should get it appraised every few years to account for inflation.

Re: RE : RING INSURANCE

We used State Farm. It is a seprate policy for the ring by itself. We own a home and didn't put it under there, because home owners only pays out $5,000. If your ring is worth more than that, it is best to get a private policy for it. You will need the apprasial though so they know the worth and how much of a policy you should carry. Best of luck!

Re: RE : RING INSURANCE

I have a seperate policy under my name with State Farm. We pay $810 a year. My ring was appraised for $41,000. It is the cheapest company that I found. Hope it helps :)
