Re: Shower Today- Update at bottom (Yes it was!)

So I have a very strong feeling that my shower is today. My mom has been mentioning that my singer is having a showcase at her friend's yacht club. When I heard the other day she wasn't coming with me I said, 'oh, heck no, I'm not going there by myself.' She said well I can't go I have a communion. Well, to make a long story short, her communion is next weekend and she 'forgot' and then I got an email from her at 1 in the morning telling me she has things going on in the morning, but she will meet me there. The only thing that confused me a little is that she said, 'it's up to you.'
However, I thought it was weird that this 'singer' would have a showcase at a private yacht club. These are things you do at bigger venues I would imagine.
So if it is my shower I've probably already stressed her out enough and should just say ok I'll meet you there, right? And if it's not, I'll just feel like a dope

Yeah, you should go in case it is your shower. Your poor mother is probably stressed that you might not go.

If it is not your shower, then you enjoy a nice show and laugh about it with your mom afterward!

I agree completely. My mom likes me to do things with her, and my mom is more stressed about our wedding than I am. I try to do whatever I can for her. lol

Ok, now I get a text from FH saying that he called in sick today because he has a stomach virus. Says it's the sushi from last night, but I'm fine and we pretty much ate the same stuff.

Oh boy, I was one of those girls who never got a shower dress. Won't I look stupid if I put on a dress? Gee, I wish I had someone who could give it away to me.

Ok update....just got off the phone with mom who said, what do you want to do? I said, I dunno, I don't really want to go. Once again she says it's up to you. I could be really off on this one. I feel like she would've tried to talk me into it.

As I'm writing this post....2 minutes after hanging up with my mom....FH calls and is like what are you doing I have to get out of here. I'm like, huh, you have a stomach virus, get the hell out of here. He says, 'I'm fine now! I need to get out and do something' So I say well then why the heck did you call in sick. Oh boy!!! My mom must've called him freaking out saying you better get her there.

I know, I'm so bad, so I called her and told her that FH would go to the showcase with me. She sounded happy about that

Alright, so I'm dressed in crop jeans, high heel white sandals, a white turtleneck tank top and a white short sleeved jacket that I got from Loft a year ago. This way I'm not dressed up and look like a dope if it's not my shower, but I'll look sort of like the bride since I'm wearing white. I'll let you girls know what happens. FH is on his way, but stopped to pick up some Immodium first

Hahaha, yes girls it was my shower!!! It was at the Mt. Sinai Yacht Club and everything was amazing. It was like a whirlwind and the day went by so fast. We got so many beautiful gifts and even more than came off the registry. I now have 19 place settings! I will hopefully be able to post pics once my sister sends some to me. I wish I had given myself more of a chance to be surprised rather than being the detective, but my friend from Colorado flew out and I hadn't seen her in 7 years. That was the shocker that brought me to tears. It was a wonderful day!!!!

(I usually play detective and then end up regretting it too.... I'm going to TRY to leave the shower thing alone!!! avoid all the stress!!!)
