I am so sorry.. I am going through something very similar. My dog is 15 and he was diagnosed with cancer. He had surgery in Aug. The vet said he would probably live three more months post surgery. I keep thinking that any day something is going to happen. It's so hard. I know. We will probably have to put him to sleep so that he doesn't suffer. Everytime I think about it, I tell myself that he lived a very long life for a dog. He had a great life with us. This is so upsetting, I know. My pet, like yours, is part of our family.

i am so sorry...we inherited my mothers dog last year...he was then diagnosed with cancer...so we decided to go with the operation...he had a GREAT summer....but a few weeks ago he went to dog heaven. im so sorry for your loss.

Yikes..had to put my cat to sleep earlier this year...was so upset..cried over it for a long time..but she was old and lived a good long life so I can't really complain. Ihad to watch one of my cats die right in front of me from old age cause I was too scared to put her to sleep..so after that I vowed to have mercy on any of my cats that were suffering. But honestly putting the cat to sleep and watching it die naturally were both equally painful for me..but I feel better that I put my cat out of its misery and pain I'm really sorry!
