REAAAAAAALLY BAD Diaper rash?-***UPDATE***

Alexzander is teething again, (#5!!) and everytime he does his poopey gets REALLY acidic. His little a$$ is REALLY red.. and tonight I noticed its RAW in placews, like little open parts. The doctor told me when he had this with the last 2 teeth to try and leave his butt in the open air to try and heal. How do I do this during the night when he wakes up screaming???

You had to see me and DH a few minutes ago... Alex woke up SCREAMING... I know its his bottom, so i put him on the bed to change him... Brian is handing me wipes, holding one of Alex's feet up in the air, absolutely comatosed!! Alex is trying to wriggle, cause even the baby wipes hurt now, but yet he's still in that in-between-dreamand-waking up stage... so I lay straight back on the bed (after hes clean) and rock& bounce him back off to sleep bare butt. I wake Brian back up to slide the diaper under our sons sleeping body and try to secure the sticky tape on the side of the diaper by lifting Alex's legs into the air and swooping the diaper under him!!... It was much funnie in person.. But I felt like we were doing a stage act!!

Its getting ridiculous!! What can I do??????????????????? I hate seeing my baby upset! and theres nothing I can do that seems to help him... Should I call the doctor tomorrow?? I have a feeling all they are going to say is try and let air get to it.. Thats sooo hard to do.. Ladies I need your help!!

ALEXZANDER IS DOING MUCH BETTER!!!!!! IT'S ALMOST GONE! Thank you everyone that tried to help... Look at when I originally posted this.. It took this long for it to start getting better, Grrr... My poor baby Last night was the first night he was able to sleep the night through again!

AWEEE I feel for you and your precious boy!

Im sure youve heard this before, but try cleaning him with just wet paper towel, not the wipes since that stings them even more.

Have you put anything at all? Desitin? Balmex?

I Would go ahead and call the Dr.
John Anthony had a bad rash a few weeks ago, and they prescribed a cream and it went away in a few days. (it wasnt open cuts like youre saying, but ive seen those before also on my nieces )

When the pain is actually close to the inside of his bum I was told to put vaseline on it & in it. (not to far (obviouslly)
Is his stool hard? if that is it try to give him some water that works. and it might be easier on him!

I would call the dr. My daughter had one of those rashes and the dr. gave me this cream, the rash went away fast. I would also say to try and keep his diaper really loose to let some air get in.

Ask the dr. for a prescription cream. The moms on the Babycenter board I frequent swear by Butt Paste. I put a link to it below. I know it sounds funny, but I hear it works.

His stool is soft, almost runny. They keep telling me to let his butt get air.. .What do I do, let him pee an poo all over???

Its not even near his anus/ rectum.. it on the cheeks around it...

I feel soooo bad I keep him very clean, and I load the desitin on... It usually goes away by now.. Iwill call the DR AGAIN in the AM... If they tell me to let his butt get air one more time, I swear I am going to bring him there pant-less, and let him crawl around and scream! My poor little cookiebear.. I am heart broken hearing him cry like that!

Do you have waterproof mattress pad in his crib??? Can you let him sleep pantsless with some towels that you've tucked under the mattress so they dont move?

After you know hes pooped and peed let him run free!!
