Read this please if you have a chance...

I appologize to anyone who thinks that I was not listening or considering their advice, I was. I had a terrible night as you can all imagine.

I am truly taking all of your advice and trying to apply it to my wedding..but I am lost I did everything I can possibily think of:

Cut down guest lists
no centerpieces or DIY
getting single roses instead of boquet for bms
booked the min. packages with my vendors
Doing my own invites
bought cheap favors and fixing them myself
Cheap!!! Limo
Inexpensive BM's gifts- great quality just got an amazing sale.

I guess when I really think about it--- it's not a huge wedding it just feels like it to me.

--- I know everyone has their own situations and hardships...and I know that I am probably being selfish...but I truly feel robbed of the happy experience of planning a wedding.

One reason we are struggling so much financially, is because my FMIL has cancer, had to retire, and they rely on their children for financial support (23 and 25). Obviously, we have no choice but to help them because it's the only right thing to do, but I wish they would have planned a little for a rainy day.
---Oh, and please do not misunderstand this. Money is not my first priority at all. I am there with fmil all the time taking care of her, cleaning up after she gets sick from the chemo, cooking and cleaning for her. I do care about her and love her, and I do all that I can to help.

Then on the other extreme, I have my mother who means well, but just isn't being as supportive as she thinks she is. She should not be comparing her paying for college, to me paying for my wedding.......but she truly doesn't see it my way..she thinks she did so much for us, and she did...but that doesn't change the fact I'm not willing to go for broke for the wedding.

Like I said, I was extremely overwhelmed and frustrated last night. It's been non stop bad news for FH and myself for months now. For those who were there last night, I thank you so much! And next time I am going to calm down before coming on here lol.

Sorry it is so long!

xoxo Christina

Christina, things will get better! It may not happen overnight, but it will. I'm sorry you and your FH are going through so much right now. I think that getting the wedding logistics down on paper will make it easier to see the big picture and not feel so overwhelmed by it all.

And you have some great ideas on how to cut down on your expenses.

Good luck and lots of for you!

Things really will get better. My FH couldn't live at his parents house, and my Dad's house is full so him moving in with us there wasn't an option. With close to nothing we moved in together and it's a struggle, but we always manage. So yes, it's overwhelming and stressful, but things always find a way to work out. You have osme greta ideas to cut back on wedding expenses. Also cut back on other expenses to help. I bring lunch to work everyday and FH and I limit how much we eat out and even go out. Every little bit helps.
